Rev. v1.0 - October, 17th, 2006 WinPS1/IPC v3.0 setup tips: 16 steps ! ====================================== 1°) Update PS13 PS13a-EE4 - http://744.hoppie.nl/pub/system/files?file=update13aEE4_0.zip - even if you don't use the MCP by AeroSoft. 2°) Uninstall VMDSound (if you installed it). Restart computer just to be sure all unnessecary DLLs are unloaded. 3°) Plug-in and calibrate your joystick from Windows Control panel, and check every axis response from Windows stick calibration "test" tab. 4°) Uninstall any previous version of IPC, be sure to keep your existing vmread.cfg. Also remove VIDTsr/VidServ. 5°) Install IPC v3.0 ( http://www.hoppie.nl/ivan/ipc3.html ) carefully following steps or various paths settings. 6°) Manualy edit ipc.ini to set up you own IP addresses. Enter 127.0.0.1 if Broker v1.6 and PS1 are running on same computer. 7°) Manually edit Winps1.ini to choose WinPS1's window size, setting "displaysize=800x600" or "displaysize=640x480" 8°) Be sure you installed Hardy's experiemental sound files ( http://aerowinx.com/downloads/hh_sound_tests.zip ) and put them into PS13's "AUDIO" subfolder. 9°) Install SDL.DLL and SDL_Mixer.DLL into your "windows\system32" folder. Here are direct links or the files: http://www.libsdl.org/release/SDL-1.2.11-win32.zip - http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/release/SDL_mixer-1.2.7-win32.zip 10°) Open a "DOS" command box (from Windows "start" menu), run "ps s" and answer "no" to all questions, as all sound and stick handling is made by IPC v3 itself. 11°) Run Broker v1.6 first. Check settings for PS1 path and "high priority", and also override keys if you're using Visual744 v2.0.8. 12°) Run IPC v3.0... it should load PS13 by itself, and in a window if running WinXP. 13°) When in the flight deck (not in Instrctor's page) click inside "outside view" in top-left corner to access WinPS1 options. Particularly take care to go to joyctick options and activate every axis from here. Same for sound volume. 14°) To really get joystick "alive", just go to the MCDU "blue pages" and access to every joystick axis so that you see figures moving on right column. Check flight controls are responding on "status" lower EICAS...and that's all! 15°) If using VMD on another computer: copy vmd.exe file located in your 747IPC directory... overwriting any older version of VMD! 16°) Enjoy!!!
