Introduction
I got into the Western US when I was a postdoctoral Fellow at Caltech with Mike Gurnis and Jason Saleeby. I am really thanksfull to Jason and his partner in research and life Zorka for sharing with me their buzz on the Sierras and Great Valley up's and down's and explaining to the little european I arrived the main features of the passionating Western USA geodynamics.
I am still working on the western US through three ongoing projects
- 3D thermomechanical models of the delamination of the root of the Sierra Nevada Batholith
- Thermomechanical models of crustal convection with Jason and Boris Kaus
- Creeping segment and flexure of the crust
